When I was about 10, my father packed up the family in our old Dodge and drove from Dallas to New Orleans. He wanted us to go hear the music of Pete Fountain who he said was, "the greatest New Orleans jazz and blues clarinetists." To this day I remember that trip and the profound impact it had on me listening to the music of New Orleans. The gifted producer and musician Terry Wilson suggested we do a Jazz Blues record with a New Orleans flair and I jumped at the chance!!
